I always have the best time at camp Merryelande! Very chill and peaceful campground for tent camping. Very relaxing camp experience as there is not much to do. Some people swim, the water is clean but cold! The bathrooms are dirty but it’s okay❤️. Plugs and water fountains all around the tent sites are very convenient. The trees and water are beautiful. The perfect little get away!
Love, love the place very clean and friendly, great for a family vacation, kids have a great time in the beach, the cottages are clean and comfortable, the campsites are big and beach front😍, the workers are friendly and respectful, I like that they don’t allow glass bottles so there aren’t broken glass in the beach area or anywhere else, it’s a 11/10 for me, I recommend it to anyone out there looking for a family campground
They do movie night for kids on Saturday and they have a nice mini golf, don’t miss out!!

Even though it's my family who owns the campground,I'm trying not to be partial.This is truely a unique, beautiful, quite,get away,very down to earth type environment,Mike Evans is a wonderful person as a host,he's always hard working and aiming to see you have a quite peaceful get away,if you're looking for some peace and quiet, without all the glitz and glamour, your coming to the right place.
Location was great! Plenty of picnic tables and grills. Bathrooms and showers. Convenient store with supplies and snacks. Only downside was the jellyfish :/
Had a wonderful time with friends on the beach enjoying the sun, water, and the vistas. The employees are nice, and it is a quaint place to visit. The cottages and the grounds need a makeover, however.
I like that it sits on the beach. I have never technically camped there, They have little cottages that you can rent out. Not a very big place and it could definitely use some fixing up. Especially when you 1st enter. Not very "inviting" but with some basic clean up and landscaping it could be really nice.
The place bro like omg!is the best in water was calm nice wave and the shop had just the stuff i needed and i like the place nice for kid to have fun and in joy
The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 star is because the cottage needs lots of up dates and cleaned a little better. The pictures on the website are super old. Overall had a great time.Pretty chill place. Staff is around if you need anything.
The beach is nice, the places are really scary, but the price was good for 4 days. Our place had no lights in the kitchen, and they charged us more than they said for our extra family to visit. Still we had a good time. It was crowded, but it is a nice surprise place you may not know exists
Been coming to this place for years, and its always been worth it every time. The crowd and atmosphere has definitely improved and become more family friendly.
In previous years it was a much more care free and wild crowd, although I never had a problem with it. It definitely shows the people and staff here really care about making everyone's stay as comfortable as possible.
Handling my reservation with the folks here over the phone was pleasantly stress free. In fact I had to update and change my reservation to a smaller cottage, and it was absolutely painless. The staff handling reservations were very accommodating and a joy to work with.
I've had the pleasure of staying in 5 of the cottages they offer here (Cottages 12, 3, 9, 10, and 1) and I can say that the consistency and cleanliness within the cottages every time I've checked in is great. You're not going to find any fancy decor like some modern contemporary style themes, you can book a room at the Hilton for that.
What you're going to find in all the cottages is very roomy accommodations that are welcoming and will allow friends and family to enjoy themselves just as much indoors as they will outdoors. No bells and whistles.
Just comfy lazyboys, TV's with your pick of plenty of movie channels, and dining rooms and bedrooms with enough seating and sleeping space for everyone.
One thing I will say to anyone who comes to visit here, load up on bug spray and hydrocortisone because the mosquitos here are no joke. They will eat you alive.
We had the Periwinkle cottage and the front door was hard to close and there was a huge gap that let bugs in. It's good for a camping in a cabin type vacation as far as cleanliness. They supply toilet paper and dish soap. We had fun fishing, playing in the water, and crabbing. Nice staff and a good place for a quick vacay by the beach. Watch out for the giant horse-flies!
Unique experience camping on the edge of St Mary's river in beautiful St Mary's county Maryland. Families and groups can camp together or apart on awesome St George's island
Very Nice beach (not typical ocean beach but beautiful). Excellent service by small team of staff who keeps running around from early morning till late night. Mike in particular was very helpful and a great guy.
So here's the deal. We had planned a Valentine's vacation here but didn't realize that we had rented an apartment in a cottage underneath of another family, well the other family was noisy as hell and we had to call it quits after the first night but the management was very accommodating and refunded us a good portion of our money and gave us a free night stay when we come back. And we do plan to come back in the springtime we will definitely rent a private Cottage this time though. Very good management and the place itself is beautiful, right on the water like they say.
Camp Merryelande is a wonderful place to stay and great to bring your family to, Thev friendly and hospitipale staff and owner make the stay even nicer. Visitors feel like part of the family quickly as your invited to cook outs, beach parties, boating and a round of miniature golf. The atmosphere is that of wholesome family fun, at night everything you could look for regarding night life. The camp is beautiful with panoramic views of the Chesapeake bay. The cottage make you feel like you are laying on the beach from your bed you can hear the small waves hit the shore. It is all a beach lover could wish for and more. I thoroughly have enjoyed multiple stays at camp Merrylande and plan on returning soon.
I love this place! I rented a cottage (8) for a weekend, and it was awesome. This is a campsite, so don't expect anything too fancy, but its a great place for family. One downside I must say, is that there may be jellyfish, which they do warn you about on the brochure you receive upon arrival. The staff here is great as well! Solomon was our go to man for the weekend, so shoutout to him for being so helpful! I love, love, this place, I will def be back!
